Geography

Vospire is located at 312, 1177 (http://www.aodojo.com/world_locator.php?x=312&y=1177&plane=Alyria&Submit=Submit) on the physical plane, under the shadow of Mount Vesuvius, an active volcano.

It has two entrances from the virtual map, one to the west and one to the east. It does not have any significant sub-areas, unlike most cities.

Life in Vospire

As an active volcano, Mount Vesuvius may at any moment erupt and destroy all that is nearby. Though it is difficult to get to, many more experienced adventurers find it to be worth visiting for the many merchants to be found there. There are also many challenges for the most cunning of adventurers. Most challenging of course are the very depths of Mount Vesuvius that can be reached by following a treacherous trail to the west of Vospire. The treacherous Ash Dragon is held prisoner within the Vospire castle. It is an unfortunate event when a confident adventurer releases this beast and falls to him, letting him reign wildly through the streets of Vospire.

Leveling

Vospire is a popular place where low to mid second classers go to level. The reason behind this is that mobs here tend to not have a defense, which is suitable for second classers who haven't gotten their second and third attack (back) yet. However, mobs in Vospire are quite limited and tend to decrease in experience as one passes level 90, so then Diocletian would be a better place to level. Mobs in Vospire varies from two to four attacks, so below is a list so second classers can pick and choose what to attack depending on how confident they feel. Any mobs not listed below either do not give second classers full experience or are too high level for most second classers to handle.

  • A young squire usually has two attacks and no defenses.
  • A young woman usually has two attacks and no defenses.
  • A commoner usually has two attacks and no defenses.
  • A park keeper usually has two attacks and one defense.
  • A friendly dragon usually has two attacks and no defenses, but is immune to bash damage.
  • A tame dragon (mount) usually has two attacks and no defenses, but is immune to bash damage.
  • A vampire thief usually has three attacks and no defenses, but is hidden.
  • A janitor usually has three attacks and no defenses.
  • A city guard of Vospire usually has three attacks and no defenses.
  • A resident usually has three attacks and no defenses.
  • A ragged prisoner usually has three attacks and one defense.
  • A merchant usually has four attacks and no defenses.
  • A museum patron usually has four attacks and no defenses.
  • A citizen usually has four attacks and no defenses.

Leveling in Vospire is usually not dangerous if you avoid certain places. Below are some tips to remember.

  • The Ash Dragon can come out to town during certain times. It is generally considered a fourth class mob and is aggressive towards visible players. It breathes fire, which besides from being able to deal tons of damage, can also frag your equipment. If you want to be cautious, then wear an item that casts improved invisibility (such as a wizard's cloak) so you can avoid encountering this dragon. It is a unique mob and it usually hangs out around Town Square when it's out, so you can just scan when you're around that area.
  • Mobs in Vospire are often in a formation and they can usually see invisibility. If you can, blind one (or most/all) of the mobs and attack the other or just avoid them altogether unless you think you can take them on.
  • The city guards of Vospire often carries an iron sword, which does more damage to a Sidhe or Fey. If these races loot the sword, then make sure to remove them from inventory to avoid being burned by iron.
  • The Town Square of Vospire (which is located in the middle of Vospire is NPK, and it is a common place for fights, especially sucky outlaws who cannot keep the outlaw status by killing players their own level so they prey on second classers. It is often snared, so it's best to avoid it as much as possible.
  • A few east of Mallan Lane and Castle, there is a red south. This is the Vospire Library, an NPK room that should be avoided also.
  • If you do go to The Park of Vospire, then avoid red down. This is a CPK room, and it is often used to bait second classers who level in Vospire.
  • The castle doesn't have second class mobs but it does have a fountain. Explore more of the castle, however, can lead to CPK rooms, the Ash Dragon's lair, and a death trap. Just drink from the fountain and go straight south to resume your leveling.
