From Wikilyria
- Woot! We tied for second place in the 2006 Materia Magica Website Contest! So, since we're a community website, I'm giving the prizes back to the community. Congratulations to a few of our top contributors from last year: Botanicus, Zazou, Marintha, and Dragonburner, who all banked a cool 1.25 Million GP for sharing their time and knowledge with Wikilyria. The reward unit prizes will all be put forth into sponsoring "Articles of the Month", where we'll have everyone focus their contributions on one article, and major contributors will get a prize of some sort! Stay tuned for more information. Wikilyria is a communite site - and I just want to thank every one of you who have brought us this far, and I look forward to seeing where we'll be next year!
- Thought I fixed the upload bug, but I don't think I can. For some reason the images are being uploaded in a weird CHRON setting, and are requiring manually fixing each time. If you have a broken graphic, please message me and I'll get around to fixing it if it's been more than a day since you uploaded the graphic :). Thanks! - Matt (talk) 16:49, 3 Nov 2006 (GMT)
- Fixed the upload bug. Uploading now works again. - Matt (talk) 18:07, 17 Aug 2006 (EDT)
- Fixed the MySQL bug. Searching is fixed and you don't get an annoying error when you save. - Matt (talk) 17:38, 17 Aug 2006 (EDT)
- We will upgrade to the newest version of the Media Wiki software this week. This will resolve countless bugs, layout issues, and the new mysql bug. More info to come. -Matt (talk) 16:25, 5 Aug 2006 (EDT)
- The site was down for over 24 hours due to problems with overrunning our bandwidth limit. The site has been restored and will hopefully be up for the remainder of the month. - Matt (talk) 13:54, 23 Feb 2006 (EST)
- We were down for about 5 minutes today while I attempted to add code that restricts User: pages to being only editable by their owners. Talk pages were not effected. Let me know how you guys feel about this change in the Wikilyria:Community Portal. (P.S. Happy Valentine's!)- Matt (talk) 17:22, 14 Feb 2006 (EST)
- Various bugs on the site. Will try again to upgrade soon. -Matt (talk) 17:48, 30 Jul 2006 (EDT)
- I noticed that IE7b does not display the logo (at all), and that it messes with the layout of some of the pages. I'll see what I can do to fix this, but I think it might just involve getting out of this version. Hopefully we'll be out of 1.4.5 before IE7 becomes popular! - Matt (talk) 15:00, 8 Feb 2006 (EST)
- While I was purging the Discussion page of the main page, someone mentioned that we should have a "This Day in History" module on there. At first, I was confused to what this could include... ("Foo killed Bar in Tellerium!!!"), but on further thought realized that we could put updates throughout history (up to 2001ish, when the system changed from HELP UPDATES to a trackable System Updates page). Because I'm inept about wikibots, I'm doing this by hand right now, and hope to have the entire month of February done. If you're a site admin and want to do something constructive, drop me a line as I have an xls sheet of what needs to be put in sorted by month and day. - Matt 12:10, 5 Feb 2006 (EST)
- After hours/days of downtime, I've decided to create a development server for the site (which is on a completly different domain, and uses a different mysql table, so whatever I do there will have no effect here). Using the new test site, I should be able to figure out a way to (finally) be able to get us off of Mediawiki version 1.4.5, which as little downtime as possible. Hopefully we'll get to that soon :>. - Matt 11:11, 5 Feb 2006 (EST)
- Based on user suggestions, I've finally created a new main page (based off of the Portal pages of Wikipedia). Revisions should go onto the Talk page of the Main page. - Matt 11:11, 5 Feb 2006 (EST)
